KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 — Open burning is prohibited in Selangor, Pahang and Johor with immediate effect, said the Environment Department (DOE) director-general, Norlin Jaafar, in a statement yesterday.

SHAH ALAM, Aug 27 — Employers who fail to comply with the Workers’ Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act 1990 (Act 446) which will be fully enforced on Sept 1 could face a maximum fine of RM50,000 for each offence.
